Somewhere over the rainbow
As LGBTQ community and their allies keep fighting for their rights, and considering the current events in Lithuania regarding them, I wanted to share motivation with this sketch rather than provide a solution. Keeping a healthy mindset and the fighting spirit is tough when the rainbow gets always overshadowed by people. Rainbow posters can be torn apart, painted over, yet they won’t be able to paint over the rainbow in the sky. I wanted a ;adder to represent all the unnecessary anger towards different people and in the end diversity in general. But anger doesn’t provide a stable ladder to stand on, so the person with the paintbrush is falling. The land is dark, but signs of colour are showing. There is hope.
